Wagga trainers Brad Witt and Chris Heywood have talented sprinters Flaming Aces and Leucura set to run.
Albury trainer Brett Cavanough also has impressive last-start maiden winner Cinastar engaged.
Leucura enjoyed a great preparation last time in with three wins and three placings from six starts and Heywood is confident the five-year-old will run a big race at Moonee Valley.
“His first up form is great,” Heywood said.
“I’m expecting him to go well, He looks enormous and if it’s going to be a little bit soft then even better.
“It’s a nice race for him.”
Cavanough also expects Cinastar to perform well at metropolitan level.
“She’s a pretty sharp country maiden winner,” Cavanough said.
“She ran time and she’s pretty foolproof.
“She went well in an Echuca trial as well and the form out of that has stood up in town.”
