Keith William Phillips pleaded guilty in Young Local Court to two counts of possessing an unauthorised firearm, two counts of possessing an unregistered firearm and not keep firearm safely.
Solicitor Bernadette Corkhill said the 44 Winchester lever action rifle from the Boer War was handed down through the family to her 78-year-old client when he was 14 years old.
