The former Wagga girl, born Nina Agzarian, was revealed to be one of the acts to play at Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival from April 15 in California.
Ms Agzarian said it was a nice validation after deciding to quit her position at Triple J after 10 years and start her own label, NLV Records.
Ms Agzarian knew she was in consideration for the festival since July last year and received confirmation around the same time she left Triple J.
“I was nervous but I also knew something exciting was about to happen,” she said.
Ms Agzarian is no stranger to playing the festival scene but said Coachella is next level.
“I’ve been to the festival before and it’s really amazing … it has the same vibe as Splendour,” she said.
“It’s such a big festival and kind of, for some people, the pinnacle of gigs.
“I plan things, I’ll practice but it is also about showing people what you do normally,” she said.
Ms Agzarian will play on day one of the festival over both weekend and will stay to play gigs in America.
