One of the city’s most prominent prostate cancer advocates has died after his 12-year battle with the vicious disease.

Bob Bowcher died on New Year’s Day aged 70 after his tireless struggle with prostate cancer.

Mr Bowcher performed a number of significant community roles, but was perhaps best known in Wagga for his dogged prostate cancer advocacy work, which drove him to campaign for the implementation of Wagga’s prostate cancer specialist nurse.
