The Wagga beat maker was producing music with the Australian hip hop artist for his latest album when one particular beat lent itself to a tribute to the late Phillip Hughes.
The cricketer died a year ago after being hit in the head with a cricket ball and Urthboy’s tribute, Nambucca Boy, was released last week on the anniversary of his death.
Urthboy’s thought-provoking lyrics have been laid over the top of Mr Jordan’s simple yet powerful melody.
Mr Jordan collaborated with fellow Wagga resident, Kris O’Sullivan, on the final product.
“The result is something he (Urthboy) was feeling from the music I was composing,” Mr Jordan said.
“We didn’t want the production to overshadow the lyrics.”
