Over $500 of brand new toys were donated today, with organiser of the Toy Run and Ulysses member Pat Combs accepting the donated toys.
Social Club members all agreed that it was a worthy cause, with donated gifts going to underprivileged local children and families through St Vincent De Paul’s and The Salvation Army.
Toys and cash donations can be made on the day at 6 stop points, with a BBQ to end the ride at Bolton Park from 12.20pm.
The Toy Run kicks off this Saturday, December 5th at Jubilee Park.
This year the toy run will cover over 80 kilometres, zig-zagging through suburbs including Forest Hill, Estella, Kooringal, Glenfield, Ashmont and Bourkelands on the three-hour journey.
A route map and collection points can be found on the organisation’s website waggawaggatoyrun.weebly.com.
The run usually attracts around 200 riders and between $12,000 and $15,000 in cash is raised through donations from business houses and the general public and converted into Christmas gifts, by committee members.
This is in addition to the many thousands of dollars worth of toys that are donated by the generous public of Wagga and district.
