For many of the children, it is the first time they have seen each other since they spent time in hospital together.
The annual party acts as a reunion for the children and their families and a surprise visitor was the star of the show.
Santa and his two helpers distributed presents, donated through Beyond Bank’s Christmas appeal, to about 25 diagnosed children and their siblings at yesterday’s Country Hope Christmas party at the Murrumbidgee Turf Club.
“It’s a very hectic time of the party, present time,” Country Hope general manager, Ellie Webb, said.
Mrs Webb said a child’s treatment can be just as hard on the siblings so it is important for Country Hope to include them in present time too.
About 150 people attended the event and Mrs Webb said it was nice to catch up with families in a more pleasant setting.
“It’s great for us to see the kids playing and getting along,” she said
