The Chris Heywood-trained gelding was sent out a $4.40 chance in the Highway Handicap (1400m) but never loomed as a hope in the running.
He finished ninth, only 1.8 lengths off winner Royal Jackpot ($7.50), trained at Canberra by Matthew Dale.
Earlier on the nine-race card, the Wayne Carroll-trained Grand Allowance finished sixth in the ATC Cup (2000m).
He was beaten 9.3 lengths by $1.45 favourite Telepathic.
Carroll still has Heysen to run at Canterbury on Wednesday.
Four Southern District horses were set to race at Rosehill on Saturday but Albury trainer Brett Cavanough scratched The Monstar and Just A Bullett from their respective races.
Meanwhile, Wagga Town Plate winner Got The Goss won his first race since taking out the April feature on Saturday, first up in the Ranvet Handicap (1200m).
