Paramedics received a call about 11am on Saturday about a girl unconscious in the middle of the reserve, with initial reports suggesting she had fallen off her bike and suffered a head injury.
The girl was found by paramedics about 400 metres off the fire trail at the eastern side of Pomingalarna hill.
When paramedics arrived, she was unconscious. They stabilised her on scene before calling for the Snowy Hydro SouthCare helicopter to airlift her away from the scene.
Inspector Eamonn Purcell from NSW Ambulance said paramedics were “incredibly indebted” to two bystanders who helped them extract the girl from the area of the accident, which was impossible for vehicles to access.
“They were absolutely invaluable and ambulance were very grateful for their assistance,” he said.
“Part of the reason she survived is because of what they did.”
