THE ceremony held by the Wagga Women’s Health Centre to mark White Ribbon Day was both poignant and inspiring.

Poignant as the names were read of women who have died this year due to violence against women.
Inspiring as the names of all of these women were read to the attendees by men; men who are leaders in their various professions and leaders in the Wagga community.
Many at the ceremony, men and women, made solemn pledges to speak against the evil that is family violence; violence which in itself is a form of terrorism.
We all need to work to eliminate this threat to the fabric of our society.

Diversity’s tragic toll
APPALLING scenes over the last two weeks; a suicide bomber detonates, the sound of gunfire and innocent victims lying dead in the streets.
You would be forgiven for thinking it was the Middle East, but no, it was in the heart of France.
Europe's politicians have allowed this to happen to their public through multiculturalism.
This is what happens when you import a culture, preserve it and allow it to grow.
The culture of any civilisation has good and bad, it is not as simple as “the food and the smiles” as the left wing loons would have you believe.
In the aftermath, there was much waving of the French flag and promotion of the word “harmony” – no one pointed the finger at Islam. What strange times we live in.
Yes, we must be tolerant.
We don't want to be an “Islamophobe” or a racist, so innocent people die because of an obsession with multiculturalism and political correctness.
After the latest terrorist atrocity, the apologists appear in damage control even before the bodies are taken away.
They are trying to shift the blame to western imperialism when the reality is if we had never adopted multiculturalism in the first place and had a more careful and selective immigration policy, we would not be having this argument.
There is no excuse for the murder of innocents and the loons who make this suggestion should be ashamed of themselves.
France has a 10 per cent Muslim population, the highest in the western world.
So it’s hardly surprising it has the highest frequency of terrorist attacks in the west.
Never in history has it been easier for a Muslim terrorist to kill western civilians and we owe it all to the treacherous left wing loons.

Shame on letter writer
PETER Young's letter (“Terror of gay marriage”, DA, November 25) was absolutely appalling in comparing gay marriage to Islamic extremism.
I'm disgusted that he would compare anyone in our society to these animals.
Was he sitting there watching the news of terrorism thinking "this reminds me of gay marriage"?
I wonder if this newspaper would publish any letter comparing someone to Hitler?
There is a proper way to try to argue a point, and comparing people to religious suicidal fanatics is not it.
Lift your game.

Our blue ribbon MP
OVER the years, I have had many entries in the show pony section of the Royal Easter Show without success.
But I would be supremely confident of winning a blue ribbon if only I could put a bridle on the Member for Riverina, Michael McCormack.
