The former Mangoplah-CUE forward has admitted to doubting his move to Canberra to play with NEAFL club, Eastlake.
“There were definitely times I wished I was back home, when I missed my mates and my family,” Himmelberg said.
“But I stuck to my guns and worked on a lot of things closely with the coaches.
“I worked a lot harder to get fit and it was a pretty big step up in training and professionalism.”
The 19-year old said if he’d been told a year ago what was in store he’d have “said you were dreaming.”
