“Dad had a couple of his mates around – they’re all in tears and Dad’s in tears, everyone’s in bloody tears,” Flynn told his new coach.
Cameron told Flynn he deserved his selection before referring to GWS’s history of drafting Narrandera players.
“All of a sudden Zac Williams doesn’t have bragging rights, does he?” Cameron said.
Flynn thanked the Giants for granting him the opportunity but was told by Cameron that he’d earned his chance.
“Your progression particularly in the last 12 months has been terrific and we really want you to bring that competitive side to your game when you arrive at our footy club on Thursday,” Cameron told him.
Cameron said they’ll also be getting players’ families to the club in a couple of weeks to see the club’s set-up.
