David Abbott is behind two Neighbourhood Watch meetings planned for this month and next to raise awareness of crime prevention strategies in the wake of a break and enter wave.
“It’s incredibly important (to keep an eye on your neighbour),” Mr Abbott said.
“If you see something suspicious, record it and report it to police. If you feel safe to do so … a simple question might scare them off – it shows people are watching and that could be all the difference.”
While the meetings are unconfirmed at this stage, the first is likely to be held in Ashmont on a weekend. Organisers are also encouraging Wagga MP Daryl Maguire to also attend.
