When Mrs Davis had her first child, Josh, she lived in Canberra away from family. After he was born the social interactions of work, sport and socialising with friends were gone.
“I just thought there is no way I am the only who is struggling with this,” Mrs Davis said.
In light of this she is organising “Wagga mum’s night out” on November 28 at the Commercial Club from 6.30pm. A night for mums to get together, leave the kids at home and chat to other mums.
The night will feature home based businesses for mums to get more information about or buy something if they like.
Mrs Davis is also hoping to get mums to bring good quality second hand clothes to swap with others and give mums information on cheap family things to do around Wagga.
“If I can tell more mums what there is available around town so they can get out and not spend a fortune,” Mrs Davis said.
“I want to be able to facilitate everyone and give people a million reasons to be there.”
The night is completely free of charge and has gained enormous support from the community.
“Everyone I approach about it is happy to help,” Mrs Davis said.
The Commercial Club donated the use of the RJ Hall room and CNL Catering are donating food for the evening.
“The idea is to facilitate an event where mums can get out and meet other mums,” Mrs Davis said.
