Five teams have nominated for the A grade competition, with the notable omission being the absence of Kooringal Softball Club this season.
A reported lack of numbers in administration and players has forced Wagga Softball Association’s oldest club to go into recess this season.
Taking their place in the top grade is the Saints Club, who will compete in A grade for the first time.
Teams will contest three different grades, A, B and C and will play continuously each Saturday until and including December 12.
After the traditional six week break to coincide with the school vacation, the competition will resume on Saturday, January 30, with finals starting on March 5, and the grand finals on March 19.
Reigning A grade premiers, South Wagga Warriors will give the Saints a welcome to the competition when they meet in Saturday’s feature game.
In the other game, last season’s runners-up, Turvey Park, play Blu-Js.
B grade has just four teams this season, while C grade has nine, which will be split in to two divisions after each team has played the other once.
Meanwhile, the Male League will get underway next Monday night.
