Farm equipment, cassette tapes, multi-track cassette recorders and piano keys are among the thrown away items that were used in the new exhibition [nothing is] Useless.
Inspired by redundant technologies as a medium for creative exploration, artists collaborated to explore notions of obsolescence and society’s appetite to consume the new.
The artists aimed to to disturb the order of things and ask the viewer to see things a little differently.
The exhibition saw 12 artists with and without disability collaborate with four local artists over the past six months.
The exhibition opened on September 19 with a live performance and will run until November 8 at the Wagga Art Gallery.
The official launch will be held on October 9 from 6pm.
