In front of almost 98,000 people, the Hawks belted West Coast to seal a 46-point win at the MCG.
Smith kicked three goals and was among his team’s best while Wagga’s Matt Suckling made an immediate impact after being named as his team’s sub.
Suckling kicked a goal moments after coming on in the third quarter to win his second flag while Smith and Temora’s Luke Bruest won their third title.
Suckling said it was “very surreal” to win back to back flags and become a duel premiership player.
“I’m very privileged to be a part of a special club and group that has such a hunger to perform,” Suckling said.
“I’m fortunate to play with some very special players, who will no doubt go down as some of the greatest to ever play.”
