It is a major supporter of Country Hope and this year the event raised enough money to sponsor 100 sick children to attend camp.
Almost 3000 people attended the amateur race day at the Murrumbidgee Turf Club on Saturday, an improvement on last year.
“It was a really great day made successful because of the weather,” Picnic Races president Pat Barrett said.
“A lot of people are now coming from the city because it is a country experience.”
MTC chief executive Scott Sanbrook said Saturday’s event was a great result for the Picnic Races Club.
“It’s held on the long weekend so you see many younger people coming back and catching up with family and friends,” he said.
