But just as importantly, we were part of the committee who called the original meeting at the Red Steer in 2005, where we were advised to form a steering committee.
A meeting was then held at the council chambers with the-then general manager Phil Perram, only to be told not to even talk such rubbish and to go away and don't come back.
So the original idea we had is very close to current suggestions.
We know the hard yards ahead in getting past our council, however on behalf of the original committee if we can get enough support we would be happy to call a public meeting and give our council a chance to listen to our collective thoughts.

Sign of the times
THIS week I need to get a new gas bottle from Thompson’s for cooking and heating but I am not able to have this delivered to my home. Why?
Because on September 21, I noticed that out of the blue, Harden council management had erected “No Parking” and “No Stopping” signs the full length of my house block on both sides in Albury Lane, Murrumburrah.
There is now no vehicle access to a house which has been here since 1898.
You have to stop to open a gate.
I can no longer get mail, gas deliveries, food for chooks, landscape supplies or groceries from IGA.
Flexicare will not be able to pick me up for doctors’ appointments or friends drop me home from town.
Last Tuesday, I hand delivered a letter to the general manager asking why.
No response.
On Thursday, I hand delivered another letter asking for clarification. Still no response.
So I don’t know why council has taken away my rights and land locked me.
It can’t be because of traffic congestion.
On Sunday (the busiest day because at the tip), there were 10 cars passing in 24 hours.
On Monday, there were two in 24 hours.
It is 10pm on Tuesday as I write this letter and there have been no cars at all.
I have written to all councillors seeking their help and can only hope that sanity will prevail and the signs will be removed.
I am an old age pensioner who is unable to drive and rely on local deliveries and lifts from friends.
How would you feel as a ratepayer if you were suddenly denied vehicle access to a home where you had lived for 12 years?
I know I feel victimized and distressed.

A dam stupid idea
IT IS good that Michael McCormack and Barnaby Joyce have dams firmly on the agenda (Daily Advertiser, September 17). Too bad they stuck with that old furphy – Lake Coolah.
For over 40 years it was at times mooted as a dam for irrigation storage.
The little support was largely from water sports enthusiasts.
My family had farmed for generations a few miles north-east. I recall Coolah as dry lignum swamp.
I saw it full twice in over 40 years; then later after the ten year drought broke a foot of rain dumped on Barellan and sent Mirool Creek roaring in flood to lakes Mejum and Coolah.
Our pollies should consult former federal member Noel Hicks; he was never in favour – for the stated reasons.
They might set their sights higher – say Gundagai!
