THE final of Coolamon’s minor pairs was contested on Saturday, when Kerry and Luke Hilton played Bill Nolan and Heath Walker.
Hilton open the scoring and Walker evened things up on the next end.
This had the indication of a very tight match.
On the ninth end, Hilton scored three shots, followed by six shots over the following four ends, providing them with a handy eight shot lead.
They only permitted Walker to score minimum shots until the eighteenth end when he claimed a three and two shots over the following two ends taking the score to 14/13.
As they started the final end, either team was in a position to claim the championship.
Hilton scored a single on the final end and with it the match and the “B” Grade title.
Jackpot Bowls last weekend saw 12 bowlers participate.

Gundagai
IN THE championship singles at Gundagai Barney Reardon was much to good for a very rusty Graeme Tickner last Saturday afternoon, defeating him 31 shots to 14.
Tickner was right in the match early and trailed 12-10 after 12 ends, but the winter holiday up north started to take its toll on Graeme and Reardon took full advantage scoring the maximum four shots on end 13 which seemed to rattle Tickner and Barney surged right away taking nine of the final 12 ends.

Dick Jones and Ina Ford defeated Col Daley and Wendy Nicholson 27-16.
