The children at Goodstart Early Learning Centre in Estella were taught a valuable lesson yesterday – superheroes do not always wear capes.

Their costumes can include nurses scrubs, doctors coast and fireman jackets, according to centre director Danielle Lange.
“We’ve been looking at superheroes but not just Batman,” she said.
“It’s firemen and nurses and every day occupations that are supporting people in the community.”
Children and staff dressed as superheroes, including Superman, Ninja Turtles, Captain America, a helicopter rescue pilot and Optimus Prime, for Superhero Day to raise money for muscular dystrophy.
Activities including mask making and superhero story time were planned to tie in with the theme of the day.
