The trial is being run by the Wagga Show Society and seeks to identify top commercial traits. Society events co-ordinator Alan Lean said the event follows on from the successful inaugural competition last year.

There will be a pen of grass fed steers, plus another class for heifers.

“The pens will receive a live evaluation by a highly experienced cattle buyer at the show, then after processing, Teys will produce a very detailed carcase assessment based on Meat Standards Australia and Teys’ specifications,” Mr Lean said.
