It was a role reversal for Mount Austin High School students and their parents yesterday as the children waited on the adults.
Certificate II in Hospitality students from year 11 and 12 made cakes and sandwiches and dazzled parents, teachers and executives with blooming teas, flowers that blossom before your eyes when activated by white or green tea.
“They did really well,” hospitality and food technology teacher Kerrie Gale said.
“The parents loved it.”
Students also assist to run a weekly coffee shop at the school and there are plans to open the shop before schools for students and teachers to get their morning caffeine fix.
“It breaks down barriers between teachers and students,” Mrs Gale said.
