It comes as irrigators face rampant uncertainty over the Murray-Darling Basin plan, which aims to slash entitlements to return water to the environment.
The $263.5 million commitment falls under the Coalition’s $12 billion Clean Water Plan.
The projects, including paddock and irrigation works, are expected to return more than 70 gigalitres of water to the environment.
