The Turks lost heavily in a counter attack on the Third Bde the night before last. Altogether there was twelve big shells this morning. In the afternoon the Turks kept up a heavy shell fire from new guns mainly. Two of the machine gun men were killed with this one this afternoon. They may have been playing particular attention to the beach as I suppose they have heard about another Division landing. Also they are putting wire up.
