Firefighters were called to the house, on Slocum Street near the Murrumbidgee Turf Club, about 11.30pm on Thursday with the home already well ablaze.
The blaze took firefighters more than two and a half hours to extinguish.
No one was injured in the fire.
Police spent Friday investigating the potential cause of the fire.
It was the second house fire to strike Central Wagga in a week, with a Johnston Street house destroyed in a blaze on Tuesday night.
The Johnston Street fire is believed to have been deliberately lit, with the resident of the house blaming squatters for the inferno. It will likely be pulled down.
