Firefighters received the first call to the Johnston Street property at 7pm and four crews – including an aerial pumper were dispatched to the scene.
The home was believed to be unoccupied at the time of the fire and several neighbouring properties were evacuated.
No injuries have been reported.
It took Wagga Fire and Rescue NSW crews just under an hour to bring the blaze under control.
Just after 8pm they began their investigation into the cause of the fire.
