Police are scouring CCTV footage in their hunt for an attacker, believed to be a teenage boy, who raped a woman as she walked to work along a street in Rooty Hill in Sydney's west.

The 46-year-old woman was grabbed from behind as she walked near a stairwell leading up to an overpass on North Parade, near Rooty Hill High School, about 8.45pm on Thursday.
The woman told police her attacker, who she thought was aged about 16, threatened her before sexually assaulting her.
The attacker then took cash from the woman, before running away along North Parade.
Acting Inspector Michael Cantrell, from the Mount Druitt Local Area Command, described the attack as random and violent.
He believed other people would have been in the area at the time, and may have seen the offender.
"She did call out for help but it appears as though no one was able to," acting Inspector Cantrell said.
"We hope that people in the area walking around at that time of night may have seen this male, and any information needs to be supplied to us."
He said police did not know how long the sexual assault and robbery took, but said it "wasn't a prolonged incident".
Following the attack, the distraught woman approached some people on the street a short distance away and asked for help.
The woman was taken Rooty Hill RSL Club on Sherbrooke Street, where police and paramedics were called. She was taken to hospital for treatment.
"She's obviously very distressed but police are providing her support," acting Inspector Cantrell said.
"Physically, she is OK, but obviously distressed by the situation."
Police from the Mount Druitt Local Area Command set up a crime scene on North Parade, which runs beside the railway tracks, and forensic police examined the area on Thursday night.
The location is several hundred metres from Rooty Hill train station, and police are examining CCTV footage from the platforms, as well as from properties along North Parade, to see if the offender was caught on camera.
Police described him as being of Caucasian appearance, with a medium build and short brown hair.
He was wearing a white T-shirt with a logo on the front, and dark, skinny pants.
