Four Rural Fire Service (RFS) trucks from Tumut, Gilmore and Brungle responded to calls at 6pm to the fire a Wyangle, but the shed was well alight when they arrived at the scene.
Firefighters worked to contain the blaze for about one-and-a-half hours, and one truck remained at the scene to monitor for any flare ups, Tumut RFS district technical officer Geoff Frowd said.
It is believed an electrical fault was the cause of the fire.
Essential Energy crews were called to cut power from the shed.
