Collins fronted stewards on Tuesday and had his licence fully suspended for a six-week period, starting Thursday.
Collins was found guilty of rule 175 (g) in that he gave false or misleading evidence to steward Tom Moxon.
He had his licence suspended in full for four weeks.
Collins was also found guilty of rule 175 (gg) in that he gave a false statement to Racing NSW’s chief investigator.
On that charge, he had his licence suspended in full for six weeks.
Stewards decided that Collins could serve both sentences concurrently.
Collins has until Thursday to appeal the penalty.
Collins had one ride at Warwick Farm on Wednesday so pending an appeal or stay of proceedings, his suspension will start on Thursday.
It means he will be free to return to riding mid-August.
The full suspension of his licence restricts him from riding any trackwork.
The suspension comes at a bad time for Collins as his comeback to race riding was gaining momentum.
The 21-year-old made a comeback to racing in September last year and has ridden 40 winners in that time.
He is apprenticed to Wagga trainer Trevor Sutherland and leads the Southern District Racing Association (SDRA) apprentice jockey premiership.
