POLICE are investigating a multi-vehicle accident that has left a woman in a critical condition.

On Friday a Toyota sedan, driven by a 70-year-old West Wyalong woman crashed head on with a b-double truck on the Newell Highway, five kilometres south of West Wyalong.
After the intial crash, the Toyota sedan crashed into a Toyota van, driven by a 30- year-old Griffith man.
The 70-year-old sedan driver was trapped before being extracted from her vehicle and immediately treated at the scene.
She was taken to West Wyalong Hospital before being transferred to Canberra Hospital where she remains in a critical condition.
The driver of the van was treated for minor injuries at Temora Hospital.
The driver of the b-double was not injured during the crash and was taken to West Wyalong Hospital for mandatory blood and urine testing.
Police from Griffith Local Area Command established a crime scene, and the Newall Highway was closed for several hours as investigations took place.
Investigations into the incident are continuing and police are urging anyone with information to contact Griffith Police Station on (02) 6969 4299 or via Crime Stoppers.
