Wagga police duty officer, Inspector Peter McLay, said the taxi struck the brick and tile house about 6.30am.
The Ford taxi, driven by a 78-year-old man and containing a passenger, failed to negotiate a bend in the road, mounted the gutter, hit a road sign and slammed into the house next to the front bedroom. The impact broke a number of bricks and caused some internal damage.
