Wagga trainer Gary Colvin is hoping the timing is right for Zatigeroo in the Thomas Bros Toyota Kurrajong Waratah Cup (1300m) at Murrumbidgee Turf Club on Saturday.

Colvin is looking to go out on a winning note with the five-year-old heading for a spell following the feature race.
Zatigeroo is on the quick back up following a third at Wodonga’s meeting on Saturday, but he’s no stranger to the task.
He backed up from a run at Gundagai on April 6 to win six days later at Wagga.
Colvin isn’t concerned with the task ahead, especially considering his run on the border and how he’s pulled up.
“He was very unlucky last week at Wodonga and is just one of those horses who needs a bit of luck as he always gets back,” Colvin said.
“He didn’t get it at Wodonga. He went an inside run that wasn’t there and Wodonga has a very short straight and he never got a crack at them until he got to the outside and really motored home but it was all over by the time he was getting him.”
Zatigeroo has drawn barrier nine but with his racing pattern it suits and he’s again linked with apprentice jockey Nick Heywood.
He won’t use advantage of Heywood’s two-kilogram claim as 54kgs is already at the Wagga rider’s limit, but Colvin was more than happy to put him on.
“Nick rode a treat of a race on him when he won at Wagga last time and he knows the horse and I’m real happy to have him on,” Colvin said.
Zatigeroo gets a 3.5kg weight relief from his last start and gives Moruya visitor and top weight Mineral Deposit 5kgs.
Colvin believes he’s the horse to beat.
“That’s a very good horse, it’s been there and done that and will be very hard to beat,” he said.
“He’s a pretty seasoned horse and with the claim I don’t think the weight will worry him too much.”
Colvin will saddle up five runners at the MTC and while Zatigeroo may be his best chance is happy with how Bad Boy Brown is heading into the Pirteck Wagga Benchmark 55 Handicap (1800m).
Colvin also has Uncle Phil in the race, but believes Bad Boy Brown is relishing racing over longer distances.
“It was a good run last start and he’s up in weight but I think he can run it out pretty strong,” Colvin said. “The further we put him up the better he’s been going.”
