Mr Hindmarsh was in Wagga this week to talk to youngsters about the dangers of problem gambling, but took time to talk to the Advertiser about prospects of an NRL Premiership match in Wagga.
With the recent City-Country clash at Equex a “great display of rugby league”, he said the city was capable of hosting a club match.
“Bathurst has one, they did one in Albury, so why not? Wagga’s a big enough town to facilitate it and it’s got great rugby league traditions and history,” Mr Hindmarsh said.
The Advertiser has launched the Our Sporting Chance campaign on the back of the successful City-Country clash to entice an NRL Premiership match to Wagga.
A Premiership clash in Wagga would help engage youngsters in the sport, Mr Hindmarsh said.
