The day involves young Australians across the country reading the same book at 11am to promote literacy.
There were 60 children at the Forest Hill Centre enjoying the book, The Brothers Quibble.
The book was written by Australian author, Aaron Blabey and was read by Wagga Mayor Rod Kendall.
Students had been talking about the book for the weeks leading up to the day but had not been able to read it.
Simultaneous storytime has been running for 15 years but is the first time the newly formed Forest Hill Centre has taken part.
Centre Director Amanda Burgess was pleased to take part in the day.
“We really want to push literature with the kids.”
