Wagga Heat entered the game depleted from their game against Canberra on Saturday.
“We ran out of legs, they [Queanbeyan] didn’t play yesterday,” Heat coach Allan Mullins said on Sunday.
Wagga Blaze were pitted against an undefeated team.
“The Yowies were very physical and unfortunately the referees weren’t calling many fouls,” Blaze coach Michael Macpherson said.
The Yowies forged an early 15 point lead, and the Blaze struggled to close the gap.
“They busted their arses right to the end, Summa Stephens’ defence was sensational,” Macpherson said.
