More than 100 guinea pigs, or cavys, were entered into the pedigree category by 10 exhibitors while 29 were entered into the pet show.
The cavys were entered in categories ranging from heaviest, fastest eater, best boy and girl and best dressed.
Vice president, Andrew Lockley, said the Canberra-based club is considering a second show to be held in Wagga on October 25.
“This was our first time in Wagga and it was a very big success,” he said.
“We’ve got one breeder in Wagga and a couple in Temora.
“Most of our club shows are in Canberra but we wanted to have one here.
“It was beyond our expectations.”
