It will also be extended to the network’s management staff.
The wage-freeze will help pay for continued employment of 203 apprentices set to graduate this year and in 2016 under fixed-term contracts until June 2017.
The proposal comes as Essential Energy grapples with a decision from the Australian Energy Regulator which will mean it cannot afford 1400 workers.
