Member for Cootamundra, Katrina Hodgkinson said Junee High and Murrumburrah High, have been selected to help lead the way in the future delivery of agricultural education.
Seven NSW public schools have been chosen as lighthouse schools across the state as a response to the recommendations of the Pratley Review into Agricultural Education and Training in NSW.
“It is terrific that teachers from Junee and Murrumburrah will have the opportunity to play a mentoring role with their colleagues in other schools across the State,” Katrina said.
“Agriculture contributes around $9 billion to the NSW economy every year and it is critical that we have relevant, high-quality agricultural education and training.
Other lighthouse schools in NSW are:
- Colo High School
- Kempsey High School
- Pittwater High School
- Mount View High School
