The final nail in the coffin has been dealt to the controversy-plagued Harris Park art project.
Wagga City Council announced on Monday the mural – which depicts a “lasercat” – would be removed in its entirety.
The announcement came just days after council publicly apologised for the artwork that was commissioned without community consultation as part of a children’s school holiday workshop.
Council said it approached the children to inform them their artwork would be removed.
It said the artwork would be “documented” before being taken down.
Less than two weeks ago council said the project “added character” to the community and would result in lower levels of vandalism.
