The Jaguars had their colours lowered for the first time this season but the coach reacted to comments made by Henwood Park coach Kyle Doswell.
Doswell told The Daily Advertiser Junee’s players had gone out to deliberately hurt his players.
However Cooper denied that was the intent in the 3-1 loss.
“We’re happy to say we were beaten on the day by the better team which finished their chances,” Cooper said.
“But to have Henwood Park’s coach come out and say there were ‘dirty tactics’ after a good hard game of football takes the shine off the day.”
Cooper said the allegations hurt the club and the players.
“There was no malice in any tackles, we didn’t go out to hurt anyone,” Cooper said.
“We’ve always been a pretty hard football side and you need to being presence to the game.”
Cooper said Junee didn’t play particularly well against the Hawks.
A lapse in defence allowed Hawks’ star Jake Ploenges to score before Jake Crowder levelled the scores for Junee.
Cooper said the team would be working hard to ensure the lapse didn’t happen again.
