The squad of 17 local girls, including five new recruits defied the odds and thumped Ainslie 6.9 (45) to 1.3 (9).
The Lions back line was fierce and the midfield ran unchanged all day.
Young gun Claudia Haines was dangerous up front kicking two goals in her debut game for the Lions.
Best on ground Ally Reid played on the wing, amounting a massive amount of possession and racking up plenty of kilometres.
The win was particularly rewarding for Jack Powell who celebrated a milestone playing her 50th game for the club.
