About 10.20pm a 30-year-old man was working alone at a service station on Illabo Road.
A customer approached the glass door and the staff member opened the doors and allowed him access to the shop.
As the known customer came into the store, a man, described as having tanned skin and brown eyes, and wearing a full face black motorcycle helmet with a black hooded jumper, black pants and blue joggers, walked in behind him.
The man was armed with a large knife and threatened the staff member, demanding the cash draw from the register.
