Coming off a rollicking win over Brothers, the Blues found the rise in class to the Thunder beyond them.
In a sudden fall to earth Tumut was smashed 40-12 by Albury, with the Blues filling the error sheet.
“We made far too many fundamental mistakes,” Tumut stalwart Ray Carr said.
“There was so much dropped ball.”
Taking their lead from prop Andrew Cowhan, Albury treated Tumut with disdain, bolting away with a 18-0 in double-quick time.
Cowhan was the tower of strength for the Thunder on Sunday.
Likewise, halfback Cameron Breust and hooker Jack Robb were also excellent.
