Adelaide rout lacklustre Melbourne City in finals warm-up romp

Adelaide United tuned up for the finals in tremendous style when they put a poor Melbourne City side – who finished with 10 players following Kew Jaliens second half dismissal – to the sword at Hindmarsh Stadium. The Reds, who themselves had Michael Marrone sent off, won 4-1. But the abiding memory for nearly 9000 fans in the stadium will be their third goal, a marvellous individual effort from defender Tarek Elrich that  will be a strong contender for goal of the season.
