The Bombers came back from 31 points down halfway through the quarter to edge out arch-rival The Rock-Yerong Creek in a classic, 12.6 (78) to 10.13 (73).
Marrar kicked all three goals of the final quarter and hit the front with just over two minutes remaining.
TRYC came with one last charge and the siren sounded with the ball inside the Magpies’ forward 50.
As much as the Bombers played a better brand of footy in the second half, the Magpies stopped.
Marrar coach Nic Casey was stoked to get the win on a big stage.
“Credit to Pieps, TRYC is very well drilled but I just felt that we were going to get them,” Casey said.
“I thought we had enough legs and it was just there.
“Everything we’ve spoken about all pre-season clicked in and the way we want to move the footy, it just showed what we were capable of.”
Marrar made several changes in the second half, most notably Matt Molkentin to the ruck, and it influenced the contest.
Jesse Cunningham, Josh Hagar, Clint Taylor, Bryce Graetz, Dean Wallace and Josh Hanlon were all others to stand tall for Marrar.
Hagar won the medal for best-on-ground.
TRYC was best served by Dennis Pedemont and Tom Yates.
TRYC coach David Pieper was disappointed with the spirit shown in the second half by the Magpies.
TRYC won reserve grade by three points, while Marrar took out the A grade and A reserve netball.
