Cr Kevin Poynter says introducing more flexible working conditions for women would ensure staff are employed on merit.
It follows the adoption of a new workplace diversity strategy, addressing the under-representation of women employed by WWCC.
“We certainly need to improve making sure council workforce matches the diversity of our community,” he said.
