It is these heartbreaking images that show the importance of the Red Shield Appeal.
The money raised goes towards running the Salvation Army’s social services, including counselling, hotlines and in-home support to provide assistance to those less fortunate.
The Wagga branch is currently seeking volunteers to doorknock on May 30 and 31 for the 50th Red Shield Appeal to raise $25,000.
“As a community, we can certainly make a difference,” Captain Lupis said.
If you can spare a few hours on the last weekend of May, register online at salvos.org.au or call 6921 7895.
