Lake Albert maintained their undefeated start to the Pascoe Cup season with a come-from-behind win over the Hawks.
Jake Morgan put Henwood Park in front early before Tennant scored the first of his three to have the scoreline 1-1 at half-time.
The pivotal moment came early in the second half when Henwood Park’s Patrick Ireland was red carded for bringing his Lake Albert opponent down inside the box as the last man.
Tennant goaled from the penalty to put Lake Albert 2-1 up, and the Hawks were left to 10 men for the remainder of the contest.
A third goal to Tennant made Henwood Park’s task virtually impossible at 3-1, but the Hawks managed a late consolation goal through Jake Ploenges.
Lake Albert coach Anthony Gardiner could not be happier with his team’s opening three weeks.
“Well and truly, for us we’re rebuilding from last year and we’ve kept the nucleus of last year’s team,” he said.
“We're undefeated so I’m pretty happy, it’s different to last year that’s for sure.”
Tennant was a standout for Lake Albert and was supported by Ben Angel, Mitchell Tinnock, Chris Durman and Abe Meredith.
