The Goannas made it two wins from their opening two games with a valuable win, 6.12 (48) to 3.8 (26) at Mangoplah Sportsground.
The Crows were still in the contest heading into the last quarter and could have really put the pressure on MCUE early in the term and moved within two goals if not for an uncharacteristic miss from Bryce O’Garey.
The Goannas made the most of the reprieve and kicked the next goal to grab some breathing space in a low-scoring affair.
Mitch Daniher was dominant for MCUE with another polished display through the midfield.
Youngster Jake Whitley impressed on a wing for the Goannas, while Col Sanbrook, Matt Collins, Isaac Damme and Matt Roberson all put in strong displays.
Ben Curley and Niel Irwin were standouts for the Crows.
